Floating Driftwood

so, I've had this nice piece of driftwood soaking for about a month and a half, and it still won't sink.
so, I plan to just tie it down.....but with what?
How do you guys tie down your driftwood?

I never tied down driftwood, I just place rocks on it. If you wish to tie down driftwood, I reccomend using fishing line, and tying them to rocks.

+1 rocks. Or maybe a plastic wire tie. I have notice they sell drift wood screwed to a piece of slate tile, could try that? But I'd use a stainless steel screw rather than the steel ones they use.

That is why I never soak it. If i have a piece that does not stay down I just place a piece of rock or slate on it.

try to boil it for 4hrs or so...

I boiled and soaked a piece for a long time, no luck.

Went out and found a rock that would fit and hold it down. Hoping it eventually becomes waterlogged so I can take the rock out. But that is your best bet.

when you soaked it if it floated you should try soaking it with a brick on top for a while maybe??? i have the same problem and trying to figure it out.

I got this huge piece myself that I'm soaking in a rubbermaid 45 gallon trashcan for days now and still floats. I'm being patient cuz it is a very nice piece that resembles roots. I'm planning on using it in my 300 discus tank. Be patient or else find something big enough to boil it in and/or weigh it down by screwing stainless screws onto a large enough piece of slate. good luck.

Another trick is to tie it onto the lid of an ice cream pail or something and then bury the lid under your substrate.

I've tied some to the multi-colored rocks you can get with the holes in them. Or tie to plastic grating and bury under the substrate, which as a bonus you can also use to protect your bottom glass from rock damage.
