Floating Porkchop

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are in a 40gal grow out rank right now. I am still working on my 100gal set up. And awesome! Thank you! I really have to regulate him. I have caught him twice now nipping at my other bichirs during feeding time. He doesn't do any damage... yet... O.O
All in all you will have to weigh out which is more stressful, trying to divide them to feed or a few nips that sound fairly typical and not super harmful. IMHO I would most likely not use the divider unless absolutely needed. I am currently using in my grow out for a life and death situation.

HELP!!! He can't swim down! He is floating, and not always right side up. I have been holding him in a hospital tank with epsom salts and raising his head up to breathe when he needs to. It is the only way he is staying calm. Did he just eat too much? I tried pellets for the first time the other day... maybe that did it??20181002_144752.jpg

Paging Charney Charney
Our fish doc.
Could it be bloat?
What have you fed him?
And as always do a water change.

I just did a 50% water change. Everyone else is fine. I normally feed him tilapia, but I gave him omega one cichlid pellets yesterday. All of them ate some, but he ate a lot

In the meantime try and place the decor so it supports the fish , since he wants to be upright at the surface.
