Flood Proof and 100% Silent HOB Overflow

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Can't wait to try and recreate something similar for my 40b. Would there be any perk/downside to having the over flow box run the length of the tank?

Wow, this is brilliant.

...You said you used Loctite Stik'n Seal as your bonding agent...I looked it up and it says the following,

Not Recommended For

  • Polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) plastics, metal-to-metal (one surface should be porous) or rubber
  • Applications requiring solvent resistance
  • Aquariums or potable water systems
  • Applications requiring service temperatures below -58°F (-50°C) and above 248°F (120°C)
  • Archival applications
  • Applications with prolonged water immersion

Just thought I'd tell you that if you or anyone else was thinking about using that product in the future...

Gee, that IS brilliant...
This thread is almost three years old and the overflow is still solid as a rock. But I guess it is now going to fall apart since you brought that to light. lol.

Oh, by the way, there is a tree hugger version of Stick n Seal and the regular version for us reckless types. Everywhere I've seen the tree hugger version for sale, the regular stuff was always right next to it. The regular stuff says that it is water proof; the green version states that if it is used on aquariums that it will cause PITA members to be sad and call fish "sea kittens" or something stupid like that.

I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that I used the right one.
