Florida Barracuda at LFS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i didn't buy it. i went to see how it looked and it didn't look so hot. looked worse than yesterday. i asked them to feed it and it didn't touch any food. it's not my first time losing expensive fish and i'm not going to blow 120 dollars for nothing.

I saw a pair here in nc yesterday going for 95 a piece. Doesn't make sense to me though to keep a fish that can move 40 feet per second in a home aquarium.

those are open water fish, they need alot of room.

Just bought a 7" cuda today. Once he outgrows the tank the LFS said I could trade him on anything in the store... also have a backup lined up with the local zoo.

this sounds like another adition to my future 3000gal salt plans....

barracudas are very cool, and fun to feed. They are very available in my area, but they need a 4,000 gallon tank eventually. Another issue is they will be eaten by groupers, triggers, and morays. My 5inch clown trigger ate my friends 12'' barracuda, that must have sucked!

So your saying even if the barracuda is known for their reputation of being skilled predators....still they fall prey for small predators? Thats actually kinda of good to know...lol

what is the growth rate on cudas?...would they be similar to northern pike as a reference
