Florida or Alligator Gar?

This guy was sold to me as an Alligator Gar but I heard they dont sell those in the stores very often.

He looks more like a Florida from what I read online.

He's in my 90 Gallon, little less than a foot.

Any help?

Can you get a shot from the front which would show the width of his snout? I think it looks more like an alligator, though -- the eyes don't look like Florida eyes, and the way the top and bottom of the mouth come together don't look like a Florida. But the shot from the front would make things easier.

Yeah the mouth doesn't look like a florida. The color is the same, but idk looks different.

My florida coloration is similar.

yes , sometimes larger.... I don't see it being happy in a 90 gallon long.
There is a "river monsters" episode dedicated to these bad boys..

You're going to need a bigger tank very soon. That's a gator gar, no doubt about it.
