Flower horn is dying...NEED HELP!PLEASE!

Your FH has bloat. Don't feed anymore. Do what was in the last post of the thread that KMKN refered you to.

If you're lucky it will recover. Sometimes they are gone past the point of recovery though.

You may want to consider adding 1 tablespoon Epsom salt per 5 gal, repeated every day for 3 days. Raise the temperature to between 82 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit and monitor for two weeks. During this procedure do not feed.

The pea isn't going to help. Aquarium salt is ok and turn the heat up to 82-86.

If you've done that and it didn't help then go ahead and try the med. Not sure it will help though.

Bunty are you having the same problem as the original poster? Or are you the same person as the original poster?

I am facing the same problem as the original poster.
I m facing it with a 5 inch fader flowerhorn.
mine is not eating and i havent fed him for the past 2 days.
he is excreting white stringy poo. not eating anything stay hidden to a corner.
tried the pea not eating.cleaning water on daily bases.though i only got him for the past 4 days with me.
and i am scared to lose him :(

I read and searched on may forums. and found out this
I mixed 400mg tab of metrodizole to luke warm water. And add it to the tank
the ratio was like 8mg per gallon of water.
and did water change in the morning and evening with a gap of 8 hrs.
atleast now my fish starting moving in the tank but still not eating.
also i added heater to the tank and maintaining a close temp of 32 'c
this is my first day.

Why can you not get epsom salt? Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate and is far different from the "aquarium" salt which is sodium chloride. Switch the salts. Sodium chloride does not help much with bloat especially where defect on internal organs is expected.

well guys i searched over the net and found out this.
my fh is 6 inch in length. and what i did is mixed some boiled pea+garlic+metrodizole and make a liquid paste and with the help of a syringe piston and small airpipe.
inserted into his mouth directly.
and fed it.
it was deep so very less amount got spitted, atleast he must have ingesting some part of it.
Hope it works
beside i am mixing a tablet of metrodizole in the water. too.
Rest is in gods hand. :(
unable to find epsom salt.
