Flowerhorn growout

I go fish, plant and reptiles looking with my grandma all the time. This week when she bought me my wolf fish I bought her lunch. It’s the little things that go a long way.
+1. My sis and mom helped pay for my tank. I helped pay for hers.
Small story time:
my mom every morning wakes me up before anything and gives me my medicine for blood pressure adhd and anxiety.This morning she said when she came in to give me my Medicine she turned the light on to wake me up and my flowerhorn is against the glass staying still and staring at me until he noticed my mom came into the room. I absolutely hate the thought of someone or something watching me sleep, even if it’s just a fish.

I’m not sure if it’s just me or if it’s the food but the last 2 days my flowerhorn daisy has been getting a bunch of electric blue around the pearls on her head and mid body along with under his eyes. He’s been eating koi vibrance pellets the last couple days and think it’s bringing out a lot of blue colors on him. Is this possible or is it just my mind playing tricks on me
Buddy you didn’t mess up when you “fell in love”and “bonded” with the fish at the store. You messed up when you drove an hour and a half away to go to a petstore. It’s like an addict relapsing. You gotta take control. If I go to a fish store I always have a mental note of what I’m going there for. If I don’t have the space to buy fish I don’t buy fish. If I were to drive an hour and half to a new fish store there is no way I could leave the store empty handed. You knew what you were doing.

He’s also probably saying for your family’s sake since they already do some much for you fix the hazardous tank overhanging off the table because it could crack and leak or “explode” and cost them a butt load more in water damage.
The place over an hour away is where I sold my previous fish to. Didn’t get the FH there I’ve had it before that. Also know I have realized that every time I go to a pet store I feel the need to buy something so instead of pet stores with fish I’ve been going places that have pet supplies but sell reptiles and birds but also have fish supplies so that this way I’m not tempted to buy something every time. When I first joined mfk my experience was a roller coaster going up and down and all around but now the last almost week I finally got off the ride and now I’m in a steady spot where I don’t need to worry about much other than feeding and water changes along with other maintenance.
The tank is overhanging by hardly an inch. If it were more than 2 inches overhanging then I would do something but less than 1” is nothing to worry about. Also with the overhanging there’s just enough room for me to fit a finger and touch the glass bottom and confused the crap out of my fish lol he stares at my finger under the glass and tries to eat it like it’s a bit of fish fillet or something
I still check out the fish at lfs If I’m stopping by. If you have a good store you know there is going always to be something cool. I just be honest with myself and if I’m not there to buy fish I treat it as if they are display tanks and I’m just looking. I’ve had a bad impulse buying problem with fish in the past it’s never worth it the short and longterm to impulse buy.
