I still check out the fish at lfs If I’m stopping by. If you have a good store you know there is going always to be something cool. I just be honest with myself and if I’m not there to buy fish I treat it as if they are display tanks and I’m just looking. I’ve had a bad impulse buying problem with fish in the past it’s never worth it the short and longterm to impulse buy.

I used to be horrible but have since had to pass up a lot of cool stuff.
The tank is overhanging by hardly an inch. If it were more than 2 inches overhanging then I would do something but less than 1” is nothing to worry about. Also with the overhanging there’s just enough room for me to fit a finger and touch the glass bottom and confused the crap out of my fish lol he stares at my finger under the glass and tries to eat it like it’s a bit of fish fillet or something
Please, if nothing else, trust us on this one for both the sake of the fish and your family. That won’t hold.

Tell me about it man. I’ve passed up some real specimens but thankfully I used my greater judgement and I don’t regret passing them because I gotta a lot more time in life to keep fish and there is no shortage of cool fish! But if I were to impulsive buy those fish I passed up on It wouldn’t have benefited the fish I already have or the potential new fish. Only would benefit my fish-obsessed dumbass shortly until it backfires.

Yeah I agree it could be hazardous. All four corners of tank should be touching a level surface. Wouldn’t be too hard too drain maybe 90% and move it a bit.

I’m never so glad to be young without a lot of money and have small tanks as when I see fish I want. I’ve had to pass up festaes, motas, bd ray (for only 600), and a 10 dollar ornate bichir). One day I hope to have all, but not yet.

How can I grow my FH faster? Keep water quality extremely good, high protein and nutrition diet, regular feeding schedule. Is there anything that might help or that I’m missing. Another thing is how can I grow the kok, I think high protein diet helps a bit but not entirely sure but I do know that the main factor in kok size is genetics but does a grooming mirror help any? Anything to do to groom him?

What type of mirror? Does it have to be made for an aquarium or can it be like a little makeup mirror that’s all over my sisters room but bought new
As long as it's a mirror he can see himself in it doesn't matter how big or small it is. It's just the act of chasing off an "intruder" that helps with color development and kok growth. Now this part is the important part. Only use the mirror for 15-20 mins (After) feeding. Never do it before feeding otherwise they may refuse to eat because they're all pissy still. This method also work for females as well, you just see as much kok growth if any at all.

Another part of grooming I do too is more or less live treats every now and then. This is more for personality then anything else. It's also good for jump starting the breeding process.
