And often necessary. I've had a few fish that I had to fast before they would eat artificial foods. I generally only have that problem with purely carnivorous fish. A FH should only take about a week tops before it should accept other foods. Either way tho they can go upto a month without food and just be fine, only really need to worry about it once it's past a month.
A month of no food and be fine??? I’m impressed lol it takes me 5 minutes before im wanting another meal

Fish can go a lot longer than we give them credit for.
Might need to keep my puffers off bloodworms for a bit as they are getting more and more hooked :duh:

It’s the point where daisy is always in the cave and only comes out when he smells bloodworms. ?

What kind of puffers do you have? I know you have a puffer thread but haven’t seen it in a while and also what’s the biggest one you have

Amazon puffers. No new developments to post about.
My biggest is Dewey, at only about 1.5 inches but really fat. They will get between 3-5 inches, closer to 3. Huey and Louie are about 1.25. Slow growers.

I remember a while ago I had leopard puffers and named them cheech and Chong. I miss puffers lol they’re awesome. Sadly they both passed unexpectedly at about 1.5”

They (green spot/leopard) do need full salt as they mature. Puffers die easy and aren’t that hardy.

Didn’t know they needed full salt I had them in a little bit of salt. I do have a empty 29g tank laying around. Is it possible to keep a couple puffers in that?

Dwarves, redeye, figure 8 (brackish) are all good options for an easier puffer.
