a dovii needs about a 180 by itself.

8x2x2 is only a 240.

Your way overstocked... yes the water is clear but are your fish healthy? No one knows until they lose months off their life from stressing in a small glass box, i guess the death can just be put off on disease or sick...


Fish look healthy and water is clear, hope it stays that way!

^^ Agree, it's the dovii that will be taking most of the room, they get to 30".

Thanks tiddlywinks for being a realist!!! Has anyone "really" seen a 30'' Dovii in captivity? I dont think so.Alligator gars grow 10 ft in the wild and Im yet to see one over 6ft in captivity....arapaima get to 10ft and Im yet to see one over 6ft also.I've posted in this forum only to ask if anyone had an idea on an ID on my flowerhorn but as usual certain people have to put their two cents in just to start trouble.......just reminds me why I try not to post on forums.

Umm, either it's some pale I mean very pale FH x barred midas. Or that is just an old barred midas that grew its fin to start looking like a FH.

Its still the same fish correct? Why would it not grow the same as in the wild? Maybe because you stuff it in a glass box with a ton of other fish. Lmao your a realist? Come on kid... you asked for trouble when you posted pictures of your tank. People here only care for the fish health, not your entertainment of stuffing them together.

I am sure he placed his favorite fishes in HIS tank. From the look of things, the fish looks healthy and he's doing a great job in maintaining HIS tank. Give him a break.

A 180 for 1 dovii is a little over-exaggerated.
This fish definatly has FH in the bloodline. Id guess barred midas/ZZ

No, an 180 is not exaggerating for a Dovii at all. I use to own a pair of Dovii myself back in the late 09'. I've seen plenty of male Dovii grew to be 18" in a 180 living in there for 2 years almost 3. Just be careful with that Dovii if it was to be for tankmates. You might end up with 1 fish left. The only fish that I know that can fight back against a Dovii is an Umbee and a Buttikoferi(base on average number, there are other fish that can stand against it too). Anyways...why are we talking about Dovii anyways?
