Things sometimes work out with parrots but rarely with other males. Only alpha if any looks better with males tank. Personally a single male works out best, ahe interacts more with owner, with some grooming fish looks much better and no chance of getting bullied.
Sorry for my ignorance, are grooming fish and dithers the same thing?

I've tried a juvenile but tough parrot he bullied into staying behind the filter so I moved the parrot. I've tried danios and bala sharks and tiger barbs. The barbs seem to be able to get away from him the best although they all become "dithers". I've just decided to embrace his hungry nature and try to take the best care of him I can. There are also 2 5" common plecos, a 4" black tail shark and a little pictus catfish he gets along with.

I meant red tail shark and the only reason he leaves the pictus alone is he knows it's spiny.

Not any more than normal fish activity. He never bit the parrot. He just likes to headbutt. He smashed a kilifish and an angel while I had him in a temporary tank. Expensive mistake.
