I just noticed last night that my flowerhorns mouth was not closing. He was still eating but just never kept his mouth shut. I waited to this morning to see if he was better but his mouth was still open and he was breathing fast. He ate fine but this has never happened before with me with any type of fish. The water parameters are fine. Is this a disease, and if it is, can it be treated?

Never heard of that, first thing I'd have thought would be possible jaw dislocation from lip locking (if he was in with other aggressive cichlids that is), but what he's doing sounds different; could possibly be food stuck in his throat....

Can you see anything in his mouth when he faces the front of the tank?

I can close his mouth easily but when I let him go he couldn't do it. It's as if he can't close his mouth at all, if I just let him be, will it heal wrong and always be protruding? He's breathing a little faster than usual, but that might be because I just caught him.

He will likely die if you cannot reset the Jaw.

Do you have any other fish with it? What do you feed it? Can you post water perameters ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and Ph?
