Flowerhorn poops changes???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One thing that I will add, if either fish show any further signs, while they are still eating I would feed them NLS Hex-Shield, twice a day for several days. This formula contains magnesium sulphate (epsom salt) along with metronidazole, and a mega dose of garlic. I have used this food with great success. If your fish stop feeding, all bets are off.

If your fish has stringy poop, I suggest you take a sample of it and look at it under a microscope to check for parasites, because as it was already mentioned, stringy poop is a sign of hexamita. I think that every serious hobbyist should have a microscope.

I do hope you don't go back to feeding all those flowerhorn branded food though. All the foods shown in that image are all scams. Marketing ploys to quickly and unnaturally increase the color in your fish and quickly decrease the health of your fish. Even better that you got them for free. It will be much easier to throw them in the trash. Good pellets are anything from New Life Spectrum and omega one. I don't fully trust Hikari's ingredients but I do feed Hikari's Bio Gold a couple times a week.
