I even say you should see some potential by the time they are two inches, I still think of them as fry at that size. It won't guarantee anything but they should still be cheap enough to afford a group.

Yeah because most fry are $10 each and a nice fish seems around a $100 so I didn't know what night be better

Remember, out of a batch of hundreds of fry, only 1 or 2 will be good. Honestly, what are the chances? I've bought 20 FH fry before, did NOT get a single good one. Honestly, buying one with obvious potential saves the trouble of growing out a bunch of them.
