Please help, my Flowerhorn has I think a duck lip and what I think is the most weird is that his face is turning in to black and their is some kind of deformity going on... I checked everything (water chem, filtration, feeds) but his still getting worse... He is not eating now and I am worried he would die this week if not treated...

HELP!

Sorry I cannot upload the images... I dnt knw why!!!??? But I keep trying it!:(

I'm sorry to hear that, i dont know exactly what's happening, but just to offer support, and hope all the best! Hope any other MFK members and moderator can offer some valuable advice ASAP.

There's no way this fish can survive. The only option is euthanasia. Mouth is one of the most critical parts. Without it, your fish won't be able to last long anymore. Is this the only fish in your tank? What exactly are the water parameters? What filtration do you use? Tank size?

:( Yes this is the only fish in my 55 gal tank. I keep my ammonia, nitrite and nitrate as low as possible, preferably to 0. It is also dechlorinated. Temp= 79 fahrenheit. My filter is a bio-overhead filter with aerator.

that was kinda hard to even look at.

Nothing much you can do on this one. Only euthanasia is the option here.:(

I do wonder though what could have caused this severe issue. Had this been caught earlier before it progressed this way, a good course of action would be to immediately add a teaspoon of salt per gallon or kanamycin/tetracycline. There's no way to reverse this effect now. I'm so sorry to see your fish has gone through a great deal.

...Guys, this morning he passed away... As you see the picture, he still have his eyes, but this morning the disease eaten his whole head, killing the fish... I already soaked the filter and the tank in a formaline solution for 24 hours.. I believe the disease is rare..:(
