Flowerhorn Tail Floating Up?

Nothing has worked, and he has given up on staying upright. Should I go ahead and get the clove oil out?:(
 
Wow... Sorry to hear. :( I don't have much help for you. But maybe if you think he's past the point of recovery it would be best to do what you thinks best. :(
 
wow same thing happened to my jack d. it lasted 6 weeks with the same problem and then it died. if yours makes it then lucky you.
 
I put him down. He started to float sideways so I knew it was pretty much over.
 
Ewww.... Terrible man. At least he feels better now. And you tried something so good for you on that!
 
well dang. the treatment I was gonna suggest was raising the salinity to 12ppm for a few days. it irritates him and it makes it harder on him to swim, but it kills any bacterial, fungal, or similar problem without causing too much pain on the fish. I treated an oscar like this for 3 different things and he ended up dieing a year later from hith that this wouldn't fix. it did give him one more nice day before he died though... I miss him he was 3 and a half years old and nicer than any other fish I've had.
