Flowerhorn turning to black

Hi, friends
I got a golden phoenix baby of 2 inch in size.
Problem is since Sunday he is acting strangly. Eating perfectly, but he looks kinda scared to something.Always hidding in his cave. also Tale fin is turning to black and body is having patches of black color.
Eating perfectly,but still afraid of something.Please help.

Its a fader, so if it turn black its normal. This means the are either scared or stressed. possibly both
 
Since it s in new environment it is probably just a little scared and stressed. It should mellow out once it gets used to the new tank and water parameters. Just make sure you keep the temp up and water clean and it should be fine.

Well, my Fh is just recovering from the same problem....if you were to look at the thread "Little Humpy Acting Weird!"

Now, he is settling down, although he still turns on his stress lines when we get too close. We had to go through quite a lot of stress ourselves, trying to get this guy settled.

Check on your water quality (Ph and nitrate). He could be afraid of just about anything. I even removed the background paper to see if it would work. It will take patience and careful observation....and he will settle down. Dont worry! :)

Alright i'll check on the water parameters . see if anything goes wrong.
 
Is he in there with any other fish?
 
he stays alone .I now realize my kid brother scare him. We got a Female FH in a partition, she is quite big 5 inch.So he(my brother) thinks he can play with this young buddy just he plays with the female FH. I told him not to repeat it. Today i saw the FH being quite normal, his head blackness gone but body still showing patcher of blackness.
I think he will recover soon
 
Even i have same problem my flower is not scared he is aggressive but he chaged his color from about 15 days he is looking black and very dull he was also having cups on his eye its been healed by own its self and got black spot on his back i git sum suggestion from people to do water changes i did the black spot also healed and started getting sacle over there but my flower horn is still blackish in colour i feed him humpy head but some he its and some time not my heater is on 30℃ my tank is preety small 10. Gallons but still can anyone who could help me for heal him and when i turned lights on he sits at one corner and when i close light he just starts moving plz plzz plzz plzzz pzlzzzzzz help me i am in very serious problem i will post my images of the day bought and in middle and at now
