Calling all fight fans out there. This thread was sort of started on another member's thread, so I decided to move it here. What does everyone think about the huge fight on Saturday night? I believe that FM is going to beat RH. As I said in another thread, I think that FM is a better boxer. I am in no way doubting RH and his abilities. I feel as though RH has heavier hands and is a fierce competitor, but I think that FM is a level above him. To move my analogy from the previous thread, it's like the Patriots/Cowboys, Tiger/Phil, Chuck/Tito......and last but not least, RED SOX/Yankees. These teams/people are just that much better. That of course, is just my opinion. Everyone who cares, please "weigh-in" with your opinion.

Hitman ftw, but only because I'm English. Though Mayweather has got 7" on the reach, if he can keep the distance and keep jabbing, he might do alright. Though I do believe Hatton can do this.

same.

He may have a 7" reach advantage but that will not help when Ricky is fighting him Hatton style; close, bullying and bruising!

It is really close to call and has everyone divided. That happened a few weeks ago with Calzaghe v Kessler; look what happened then. They all said that Calzaghe was ripe for Kessler who was hungry and upcoming. Instead it was back to school for the not so Great Dane.

In a NHB fight or a street fight, my money would be on Hatton, hands-down. But in the ring, in a 12 round boxing match, my money is on Mayweather. He is more of a technician than a bruiser. If FM can effectively work his jab and keep the distance between he and RH, then he will win. If RH can close the gap (which he has shown he can do), then I feel he may overpower FM. He may be able to score a KO/TKO. I feel that if it goes the distance, FM will win. His conditioning is better. I feel as though either of the 2 fighters can knock the other out. I think it all boils down to the fighter who cam impose his will on the other. FM is a proven fighter on the big stage. Regardless of the outcome, I think that we could possibly see the fight of the year. I can't wait....

I agree with most of what you have written fella. I dont expect Hatton to be on the outside that much. He will be pushing Mayweather against the ropes roughing him up. The jab aint that good when the bloke is on top of you. Hatton was v wary of Kosta's outide work so tied him up and then ground him down inside.

You are right it has the recipe for fight of the year.

On sunday we have sports personality of the year in the UK, so what timing if Ricky wins. If he doesn't I hope that Calzaghe gets the award, We are crap in the UK for giving the award to muppets who havent won like Tim Henman. I will be gutted if Lewis Hamilton gets it as he hasn't won a title yet.

i dont think mayweather can stay away from hatton long enough to win, my moneys on hatton-once he gets close theres no stopping the HITMAN

BUMP. Are there any other fight fans out there?!?! There is more to life than fish-keeping, lol. I am curious to see people's responses. It looks like the only boxing fans are rooting for the "Hitman".

This will get some people chipping in I feel....

Americans know that Hatton will win, so arn't even bothering posting, its a dead cert that Mayweather will get KO'd in the first round.

WOW! First round, huh? Hatton is a good fighter, but.....have you ever seen Floyd Mayweather fight? I would assume not with your last post. Obviously this is all in good fun, but seriously?!?! We will see what happens...

P.S. Where are all of the American boxing fans out there? Do we ONLY like to keep fish???
