Flu shots?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
fearing non-existent and barely lethal Thimerosal mercurial plagues etc., I replaced flu vaccs with Vit D3 in addition to exotic forms of Vit C.
still alive, as far as I know.

Have not and will not get the flu shot. As far as the mercury thing I think it's a valid concern. If you think government agencies and the healthcare industry have your best interests in mind and tell the truth... good luck with that.

flu shots are the most retarded thing in the world. it was even proven h1n1s breakout was caused cause of the shots making you sick. i belive dont quote me on it. they also cause autisum. just eat garlic n ginsing you will all be fine n wash your hands lololol

Just to be clear, vaccinations DO NOT cause autism, that has been thouroughly debunked. The one paper that showed a link has been proven to be falsified and the author has been stripped of his credentials. The only "expert" who still believe this is Jenny McCarthy.

Does your mom have egg sensitivity by any chance?

Also, "I believe but don't quote me on it"? Really? Belief has NO PLACE in proper science and medicine. We can accept facts, we can reject them. We can learn and improve upon things. Good science means looking at things and saying that previous work was wrong, if it turns out to be the case. The shot isn't going to be appropriate for everyone. However, everyone cannot be the exception, even though those wind up being the ones that we hear from all the time. And hearing only from the exceptions can bias our thoughts on the matter, making us feel like there are more exceptions than those that it does work for. Practicing good science means admitting uncertainty, which I think can be very scary to people who are used to being spoken to by people who appear 100% certain that what they do is right, and 100% certain that things others do is wrong.

If you choose not to get it because you feel that you will be safe from it, or that you can weather it, and that the people around you, like infants and elderly in the same household won't catch it from YOU, then by all means don't get it. But make sure you have the facts straight so that you can make an informed decision that uses CORRECT, unbiased information!

No. Its practically the one thing she's not allergic to, lol. I did not know before reading this that there was egg in the shot though. That's neat.

And correct, unbiased information is never as fun and juicy as the unbiased information! Juicy info for the win!!

lol, I play...

One opinion:
I suspect that there aren't any sources of truly unbiased information.
Most health choices are a personal crap shoot/gamble.
