Fluval Evo Saltwater Startup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I did white, it looks very nice/natural but you see every bit of detritus that falls there. Probably should have went with black on that reason.
The clowns will likely get more aggressive as they grow and if they nest (or even have something to host). Occelaris are generally more peaceful, larger species like maroons or tomatoes are more likely to be mean.

Watch out - coral eater! Do you have an upgrade plan, they need a bit bigger of a tank.
With that said, I’m jealous!

gonna monitor closely but I have not committed heavily to coral yet, all I have is a zoa and brain.. I think I have some time to upgrade since he’s so small but yeah inevitably I know I’m gonna expand. A lot more fish options with salt, thinking a 75 in the future

I need an RO system first, not too worried about tanks in that size range they are pretty frequent

Pretty sure I have all the basics to set this up. Are there any chemicals or extras that I may have missed that are essentially?

chemicals like carbon? I don’t think you need it, add more bio. Chemicals like Dr Tims? Definitely use it

It would be good to have an array of medicines, but there isn’t really much that needs to be added. Dr Tim’s is important, you also may want some aptasia x handy because you never know when pest anemones or corals may show up.

I have dr Tim’s on order. I purchased the manufactured purple dry rock so there shouldn’t be any hitchhikers. Hopefully I will be good until stock starts get until added. Do I need to purchase any calcium or stuff for the corals realizing that I will not be adding any of those for a good bit. Also have some of the black live sand and a power head coming. Just didn’t want there to be any surprise setting the tank up.
