I just used bio-balls 30 bucks canadian filled all three chambers and had about 15 to spare. You could also use plastic scrub pads. Probably get em at the dollar store 3 for a buck.Tainted Glory;870494; said:

I got one brand new about five months ago for 170$ shipped. I would be very surprised if the price on these would go up. It just doesn't make any sense. I think it is a very good filter for the money as everyone as already stated.

Cool, so care to share where you got it, because I'm not able to find many at all in that price range anymore, haven't in over mnth. now & there are ALLOT of folk's that I'm they would much appreciative to someone saving them $$$. For what it's worth there have been a # of post's talking about the recent price's out there, the most recent just bumped again this a.m. here on setup & fil. labeled petsmart.com prices. I'm not jumping on anybody's band wagon, but the truth is out there & right now it appears to be pricey

You seem to be right. I guess I have had no need to check for them on ebay. I still found a few for 179$ plus 35$ shipping. But I guess I did get lucky when I got mine for the price that I did.
I paid $199 shipped 2-3 weeks ago...
put it on my 125 and the water is crystal. Granted I only have 5 juvy african's but the water was pretty murky after I added all the crushed coral.
But the next morning when I woke up...it was pretty clear and now that it has been running for a week (tomorrow) the water is VERY clear.
Again, I only have 5 juvy for now....
Oh and the gentleman that said that it was noisy...wow... that is very hard for me to grasp...
I'll be sitting on the ground in front of the tank and cannot hear it running and its behind the doors in the stand no more than 2 feet away from me...
But everyone has their own opinion.

I known that the ad. says NEW, but I've heard unless it's specifically says "new in box" it might not be, I know, sounds dumb, but $1 or $200 just can't take any chances. Did yours appear to still have the original tape over the lid & seem as new as it would from a store? I assume so since you didn't mention anything going wrong w/ the transaction.
