Fluval FX5 Just Bit Me In The Butt!!!

Fellows,

I am not sure why it would matter how old this thread is - many members have those filters, and there are lessons to be learned. Please don't spam an informative thread.

Thanks,

I like this filter enough to have two but one look at the hose arrangement that came with the filters and I had to chuckle. Not in my fish room!

I use gates clamps, hose barbs, braided pvc hoses and bulkheads. This reduces flow loss and guarantees a safer setup. Too bad youycan't but the filter without the hoses and get filter media instead!

I wouldnt for the fact that mine never worked, It wont start up. Same thing happened to a buddy of mine. FX5 is 0/2 in my book! Stick to something else!

all my fx5's work like a charm wouldnt recommend any other canister.and they have been out way longer than six months i have one over a year and a half old.so please know the product before telling people about it.any thing made no matter how good it is,eventually one will have a problem doent mean all have that problem, just like if you have a car and the starter doent work doe that mean alll the same cars like yours have a starter that doesnt work.
