Getting a 210-240 gallon soon and just wondering about these filters. Would it be a good choice? What are the pros and cons with them?

Anyone who owns one or has experience with them please let me know what I'm getting into with them. We all have canister filter horror stories I'm sure, but anyone had a bad experience with one of these?

I would definatly recomend getting one of these filter's i use one on my puppy pool and one one mybig ray tank just for extra help for the sump and they are fantastic.

I really appreciate the feedback. I have 7 tanks right now and only one has a cannister on it. I like it better than the hob's I have.

Anyone have any suggestions for better filtration? I'm an overfiltration freak, so any advice is welcome.

Never say overkill when it comes to filtration! lol

With a tank like that I would put a W/D and a HOB. I am a big fan of W/D filters. I think they are the best for BB.

to be honest i wish i had gone for a W/D on mine. Not instead of the FX5 but aswell as that would be the way i would go now if i had the chance to do it again.

They are excellent filters no bad points at all we have 1 and a 2nd on order and are looking into a 3rd.
