Fluval Fx6 cannister filter not starting properly

Hi all,

I have just bought fx6 fluval filter. It starts for a minute as the manual suggests and then stops for 2 minute. After that it starts for just a minute and stops again. I thought it should be working after a pause of 2 minute. But it runs after 12 or 13 minute for 1 minute then again shuts off. Is there any mistake I am making? Please help me out.
 
Is it constantly blowing micro bubbles in the water when it's running?

If it's cycling that often to purge air, it sound like you might not have it sealed correctly maybe? Have you disassembled and reassembled/checked for leaks yet?

Having it packed too full of media can cause issues as well. Are you using anything other than the stock media? If in doubt, I would try that as a troubleshooting measure, at least as just a test....
 
Thanks for the reply. When its running it does not produces any bubbles. Currently it runs for 40 second after almost 12 minutes. I have also checked leakages and also havent packed the stock media too full.
 
It was a voltage issue. Voltage standard in US and other countries might be different.It had 120v motor and didnt work in 220v.
 
Thanks. Filter is bought from US and Im in nepal thats why its not working without converter.
