over priced
POS

i mean who cares that its super automatic
i till prefer 2 fx5s

cool, but unnecessary IMO and a little pricey

the fluval G looks like a washing machine...

Their ads say, "The future of filtration is here." IMO, if it's here, it's no longer the future, which means that they need to get to work on the next future of filtration LOL I just crack me up. :nilly:

My hubby has definitely been throwing around the name a lot (Christmas is coming up LOL) but (and I know this isn't a popular opinion, for sure) I'm just not that crazy about my FX5 to buy another big Fluval filter. I like my other ones way better. Now, the Marineland C-530... that's a different story.

it's high-tech and has a few bells and whistles, but in order for them to make a valid claim about being the future of aquarium filtration, they have to make leaps and bounds in the areas of filtration performance and outflow. that's what really matters. i'm wondering how much these will go for on ebay.

The only thing I see better than the fx5 is it's looks, which as you can see is Fluval's major selling point. when compared to the fx5 in performance, the G6(which will run you $500) only does 1000 lph or 264 gph vs the fx5's 925gph. Another "advantage" is how it monitors your water, which unless you have a new setup will pretty much be useless, unless your one of those who checks their water daily. And I would rather spend $3 on a thermometer than a couple hundred on a filter that watches the temp. Plus shiny things tend to break easy..lol.

Tons of hype building up to the release then comes out with low flow and a 500 price tag. If thats the future of filtration I will bury myself in the past. $500 not in this lifetime.
