is this common? this is my first fluval and water is leaking from the canister and its not working no water is getting sucked in and yes i did put water into the canisiter what could be wrong anyone know?

If it has worked properly and has all the sudden sprung a leak, we need some more info.
If it is 1st use, you might not have places the o-ring in the proper place. If its leaking in the area where the motor meets the media bucket im pretty sure thats the problem. Then again, if you tell us where its leaking from we woudl have a better idea what to tell you

If it is the 03 series get rid of it and get a xp3 or 404. I had a 303 and it was a ***** that leaked all the time. My biggest fear was that it would leak when I thought it was all set and I'd flood out my living room.

my 404 leaks after cleaning it sometimes, check that the O ring is in the right place and that the groove is clean. One day I pumped that primer plunger until my arm was sore before I realized that I had switched the intake and outlet hoses. :screwy:

watch that swtching thing done it its easy to do the 304 and 404 are bad for the water leaking from the seal check that its seated right then with both hands push it down before clamping also when you pre fill a lot of excess water stis in cracks and holes shake the shat out of it turn up side down had one that i thought was leaking turned out it was extra water leaking out at least a pint all over the cabinet..
