fluvals

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
eheims are better but i just dont have the price for it...... xp3 is overkill, meaning what?

Ali - here in England a 2217 is slightly cheaper than a 404 new.

I also paid just over half the price of a 404 for a 2215.

And the 2215 does a better job than the 404, honestly. The 404's output is listed as being twice as powerful, but the flowrate seems at least as strong on the 2215 and it keeps the tank cleaner.

in america, ehiems run about $200-350.. fluvals and renas go for abot 100-115... i live in chicago..... how are we gonna do this?condition of the eheims? what models u got?

the eccos look small and don't look like it can hold any biomedia...... well my question is... can it be done? can the rena xp3 be hooked u to my 30 gllon safely? i am still getting half people saynig yes, ou can lower the flow if it was too strong, and half people saying no, its too powerful.... the fishes i have is a 4 inch jd and 7inch pleco, so its not like i got tetras or guppies.. has anyone had this filter before? can it be done?

Hey Chuck,

The new '04 fluvals are a breeze to clean compared to the older '03 models. The new ones have a quick disconnect that makes it real easy to separate the unit from the hoses. I also like the AquaClear line. I still have a mini and a 200 from ten years ago. They are still running! I regret I gave away a 500 some time ago.
Thanks for the info, Reefcrack. I thought the design looked a little screwy. I'm glad to hear they've been made easier to clean.

As some of the other folks have said, Eheims look to be the best, IMO from looking at the design. One reason I like XPs is because they have a similar design. Eheims are out of my price range, though.

Chuck
