Flyriver turtle concern...

Hi

I have a 3.5 year old FRT and had some of the same concerns you have. The first was the pink belly. I later learned that that's quite normal as they age. Since FRT's bellies turning pink can signalling health issues, people tend to freak out. But I find it's only pink when the lights are out. If you turn on lights and it's white it should be normal. Judging from your pictures it looks okay to me.

As for the "rash" on his head. Mine gets irritations on his head and underside. They are super sensitive even if you have clean water. For a while I thought I had a fungus problem so I started using Pimafix. Whether it was fungus or not, Pimafix seemed to help keep his skin clear. I add a little bit every now and then.

As for feeding, I had mine on sticks and a lot of fruit but about a year ago he stopped eating the fruit. I was concerned too but I met a guy who has a really healthy looking 6 year old and he said that happens. His even started eating feeders and shrimp.

Now a question for you! I was thinking of getting a stingray but wasn't sure of putting one with an FRT. How's that going?
