No you don't. You just have to consistently score the average or higher. They will curve, if the average is that low.

that would be nice, if she curved ;) she specifically said she will no curve our grades. she taught physics at georgia tech and the department wanted her to curve there, said she wouldn't do it at our school now...

I'm telling you, if it is any accredited college, she can NOT fail half of the class. She would lose her job. She is bsing. I have already been through that.

half my first year bio class failed at university. I managed to pass (barely) and a few years later graduated with a BSc in bio.

not all colleges/universities bell. if half the class failed, half the class failed. thats why university is tough. if it wasn't, degrees would mean nothing.

No, that means that either A) Half the class did NOT fail (I would like to see the stats, tbh) or B) The teacher and/or uni is incompetent. They are putting students in the wrong classes, or they can not teach.

Colleges force students to drop classes, they curve, they move students, etc. If they were consistently failing students, they would not survive.

first year (and some second year) science courses where I went (university of toronto) are famous for 'weeding out' students. thats just the way it is..

granted, not all programs are like this. but any of the hard sciences at U of T were brutal..

glad those days are DONE :)
