Foggy/Cloudy Water

Well what really gets me confused is the effect that tap water would have on my water. Since the tank parameters are high wouldnt this make it a little higher.. Or would it lower it.. So this is what I will do tommorow... Change 50 % again without siphing the rocks since it has been siphoned last night and add salt, decholorinizer, and stress coat... Then the next day I will check the parameters... What does everyone think

Just do the stresscoat and salt.
50% waterchange in the AM then 50% in the PM
The effect on the tank water will be diluting the pollutants that your filter cannot handle yet, that are toxic to the fish...
Do it like this...drain 50% of the water vacuuming the gravel.
add the amount of stresscoat recomended on the label for "new fish"
(this will declorinate the water and provide Aloe for the loss of slime)
refill the tank with the correct temp tap water, then add the salt....

Ok, your ammonia is 2 ppm and nitrites are 2 ppm. If you do a 50% water change the tank ammonia would drop to 1 ppm and tank nitrite would drop to 1 ppm (assuming your tap water has no ammonia or nitrites in it-most doesn't). But fish excrete ammonia through urine, gills, feces, etc all day long. So it's going to build right back up again. If you do a 50% water change and drop the ammonia & nitrites to 1 ppm that's STILL toxic to fish. That's why I suggested to do one in the AM and one in the PM. A tank normally takes about 3-4 wks to 'cycle'. Not sure how long yours has been set up but for one reason or another it's not cycled. You may not have enough filtration or it may be the over-stocking issue, or it may be a tank that hasn't been set up long enough to cycle.
Oh, also-don't feed the fish for a few days and then only feed if the ammonia and nitrites are under .5 ppm ('point' 5). It won't hurt fish to go weeks without food and every time you put food in there it's excreted by the fish and more ammonia then nitrite is made.
Edit: I was posting the same time as zennzzo, I'm glad you're here :-)

Ok I got it I will try that tommorow or thursday because tommorow i have a couple meetings to attend too... Ill let u guys know wat happens.. HOw much food should eact catfish eat a day?? I usually drop 12 feeders a day for these guys thats for 4 fish??

NO feeders! You'll end up giving your fish some disease that can't be washed off with gasoline. 12 feeders at a time??? No wonder you've got a water quality problem. Don't use feeders (don't feed at all for 3-4 days-they'll be fine). Try some sinking carnivore pellets, sinking krill pellets, stuff like that. But wait until after you get your water somewhat under control.

Yes, much better-I use those, too. But they have a ton of protein which is going to cause excess ammonia right now. So just don't feed for 3 or 4 days.

wake up a little early and do it today...

^agreed, you have fish in serious toxic water, what is more important that than right now? You wouldn't leave your dog swimming about in oil would you?
