it doesn't matter what it is, they don't import them, so it's not going to happen. if there was any chance of getting them Li or I would have found them by now.

They are unavailble because the only place they are found is in a Brazilian national park. They are illegal to export.

With that said, there are some in the hobby...

"Fogo" is portuguese for Fire, fuego...because of all the Intense red on the fish. I know of hobbyist with Intermedias, Xingu, Xingu 2, Super monos, and a few other hard to get Peas, but havent heard of anyone with Fogo's...not here, Europe, or Japan...My bet is that if any hobbyist has these they are in Brazil, as all they have to do is fish for them...much like I do with FL Peas. As for info on the Fogo, it is thought to be a variant of an Orino. If you look at the few Fogo pics available, it has the same markings as Orino's but have varying degrees of the intense red on the throut, gill plate area...it's been suggested that it can be a middle fish between Orino's and Tems...It is also thought that this intense red might only appear during breeding, as most Cichla coloration intensifies at this time.

thanks for the info, thats all new news to me,ive just got to get one, brazil here i come

They are in the hobby outside of Brazil.
