I've had this problem many times even with corys it annoyingly hard, and their tiny. Now I chase cats into a piece of pvc pipe and then pick it up with a hand over each hole, easier and less stressful for everyone involved, and no assing about when it get stuck in the net.
 
Last night I sold that same Lima. I got a big bag, and herded him into it with a net. Worked much better.

That's a good idea, I might try that.

Now thats a great idea, I never thought of doing it that way. should save a hassle next time.:headbang2
 
I did that at the store today. Fish swam into a hollow log, I just picked it up and dumped it into the bag.
 
I use a one gallon Sterlite pitcher for my larger plecs. It is semi clear, and has a handle.
Herd em in and hoist em out. Havent lost a net since I switched.
 
Ughhh... I had an incident with a pictus cat once. It took about a half hour to get him out of the net.
