Well going to buy aquariums and not having health insurance while you have a sick child at home makes you a piss poor father. You should know your self if you have the money to go out and buy a tank or not. And you should also know if your child is sick or not. Doing that makes you whipped and a piss poor dad. -----sorry its true

What if you live in a country that has a different health system to America, e.g Australia?

I am unaware of the system in Australia. And for all I know you may not even have a health care system. But you still have a brain and that should tell you if your child is sick or not.-----------I am a diabetic and have researched some of my medicines and I do know that there is a system in Australia that provides those medicines free of charge. Or atleast that is what diabetic . org says. But it may not be like that for everything.

How about asking your wife for permission to do something, but doing it to show her that you want her to be apart of the family decision making.

Well that would matter if it was your tank. Or it was the families tank. -----------For example I have a tank in my living room and I would never have one of my dedicated predators in there ripping apart feeders on a daily basis for the hole family to see. Some people might find that offensive, if they do not understand fish. So that tank is ours and we decided on a fahaka puffer for it. She was interested because its a cute fish and acts like a dog and i like it cause it is fierce during feedings. But will except dead foods as well. ------------------------------------------------------------But the basement is a hole other story she has nothing to do with that area and the fish keeping there. ---------------------------------------And you do not have to ask for perrmission to make her part of the family. You can talk it over and both share your points of veiw. That way you have equal say so and can come up with a decision together. And that is not asking permission.

Yeh mate, I know what you are saying, but some people discuss things by asking permission first, asking for permission is sorta an easy way to start a discussion.

My wife to be told my I could have my fish room, as long as I took care of her dog. the only sad part of my story is I will have to have a half finished fish room for a while, had to spend some construction money on the wedding. I got enough done to get the tanks in the room and running but will have to wait to finish the other half. Its so ghetto right now one 1/4th the room is tiled and has new trim and tanks, the rest just has bare floor and paint. oh well I got my fish and can finish the room later.

HAPPY WIFE=HAPPY MAN!!!!LOL!!! Trust me i know, as far as my wife getting in to fish business she has none i am the men BABY! i no longer have my my car-garage,all my 12 tanks are in it not my beautiful S4....

To me whipped is when you have to ask perrmission for something. If you just talk to them to get another veiw of a situation, I do not see the harm in that. I take in her consideration at every purchase, I allready know what i am going to do but I consider what she says. If you considering what she says means you are going to follow what she says every time then thats not a consideration. Thats a order and you are whipped, plain and simple. I see guys at the lfs all the time calling there wives and asking permission to buy fish. It is such a sad site to see. ------------------------------I am done with this thread, some people must like to be whipped and maybe the need it. ----good luck to ya
