Not thats its a bad thing either in getting a more mellow aimara. If u can get it to mix in with other fish then thats great. But for me when i think of the true standard for the aimara. It will not tolerate any take mates let alone a heater. For me I want high ojeriza and a sharp tempermeant in the aimara. Therefore i requested only those that had these qualities be shipped and the others im not interested in. To me thats what makes the aimara special out of all of the other predators. It holds the title "the meanest freshwater fish" imo.

I beg to differ, from personal experience that is.

I don't know about others, but you two are sure the Aimara experts in my book! I've read more info from you two about Aimara than surfing the internet

Hey, anything is possible.

But, you have had the aimara in the tank for a very short period of time. It has taken weeks , if not months for any of my aimaras to settle in. On top of that you only have a baby aimara, I have watched several of my aimaras go from timid fish who would rather hide than come out for a fight. Overnight I have seen them become murders, put dozens of feeders in their tank where they previously would eat them at their leisure ,they would kill eveything in the tank and not bother with them after that. You fish is not showing aggression at the moment, it is flaring b/c it is scared, you will know when it is showing aggression.

Honestly, I think you have not achieved anything yet, come back after 2 years when the aimara is over 20" and is still living peacefully in a community tank. I will be the first to congratulate you.

The aimaras i brought in would have shredded every single one of those fishes to pieces.
Observations have lead me to believe that the ojeriza in the aimara can vary from location to location. The Aimara from VZ seem to hold the crown as far as tempermeant is concerned. Not sure why this is...

your aimara is obviosly stressed. no hiding spaces, bare tank and fast swimming tank mates, in my opinion I am suprised the aimara didn't go into shock and float upside down..

I have to ask, what will you do if this all goes wrong and you end up having a few scratched up or even dead fish? Seems like a big risk to me with the kind of stock you have.
