Hey DoctorJoe, I did not know where is thread was going. I have nothing to do with flaming you and agree with you completely. I was just offering some knowledge of cyanobacteria. Here is a little info on why it could never help aquaria

Cyanobateria is in no way benificial to an aqaurium. If you do have a cyano bacteria bloom it will initially produce oxegen, The cyanbacteria will them die beacause it rapidly depletes nutrients it needs for esential life process. Here is the kicker... As it dies off other bacteria us O2 to break down cyanobacteria and quickly starve the enviroment of oxegen. Also many CB have nasty toxins in them...

Yeah, I was surprised he insisted on the idea. Especially the algae idea he had.
