For the wolf lovers: Aimara and 2 malas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for sharing pics! Thinking about a H.aimara myself... I like to community / co hab idea... hard to dedicate a monster tank to one fish...

is he in there solo?

ive got a pleco in with mine... eating massivore ?
For now he is alone in the tank...... Waiting for the restrictions to be over for some bigger sized non aggressive species to share the tank with Him.

Any tips on getting them on massivore?
I do hide one in the prawn every now and then but it seems to know and bite the prawn into two to get rid of it before finishing the prawn...... Hahahaha
The mala is on massivore and does not take prawns....

bought him that way... only reason i bought it really. it was on my list of fish i wanted to keep... great fish though! gonna be a fav for sure!

maybe start by grinding them up to a powder and mixing it with the prawn chunks.

i’ll ask vendor what he did.

GL!

I have noticed that everyday around the same times, the aimara would swim against the current and leap up, at times bumping the lid, at times leaping against the current for like a good hour.....after which it settles under the driftwood..... Is that normal aimara behavior?

don’t have a good answear for you, i use my light to cover the lids at night....

mine just kinda lurks about...

The water parameters are fine with 20% water change once a week.....it usually starts its routine leaping against the current in the morning

It used to just swim around the current when we just got it....

The aimara seems to have stop jumping somehow, I am hoping it's settled.....
It now comes out from the driftwood to the front of the glass when it's hungry and swim against the current every now and then.....
