For Those With Bluegill/Sunfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I may have to try something besides crawlers, I think the crawler guts(digested dirt) has alot to do with my water quality.

May try some of them Pink minnows, or as you call them 'Rosy Feeders'.

The seven inch pet Bluegill that I had oddy didn't go after the Rosy feeder I kept in the tank as a pet as long as he was well fed with Big Strick Fishfood pellets.

Mine took to store bought instantly, I feed him all kinds of stuff (community flake, ciclid pellets, shrimp pellets, tubifex worms, etc) on a varying schedule and occasionally a live treat like a worm or crickets and grasshoppers from my yard (multiple acres, no pesticides or fertilizers on the whole place so no worries) or some baby brine shrimp or ghost shrimp from the LFS.

My Ciclid I used to have loved flies, the bigger the better, tried one with these guys and they wanted no part of it.

Will have to experiment with some foods.

I was looking at the Bluegill pellets, for ponds but they recommend using within 3 months and with only 1 Sunfish, 10lbs would last alot longer than that.
