dude, i really like that mix!

what are you feeding that dragon goby? how quick do they grow?
Thanks! The Dragon eats almost anything. He loves flake, krill and sprilina pellets, but his all time favorite is bloodworm. In his tube he will wait for me to hold the chunk in the opening then start swimming in place to create a suction, therefore moving the worms to him. If too many get past him he will stop, reverse and go over the "lost" ones. The larger one, Snakeman (original i know lol) I've had for about 2 years. He was a pet's mart fish but the healthiest, and a friend there hid him for me since he was the biggest at 6 inches. He's about 12-13 inches now. :D The smaller one, I have had for about 3 months, and is about 7-8 inches.

is it me or did that rtc hit the wall really REALLy hard?
lol. I know right? Poor guy was born that way, and I guess since I see him every day, I don't realize what he's really supposed to look like. He just smiles away lol. My lfs has about 5 little RTC babies and i realized how different they look than Joker did, or vice versa.

Kool stock, love the pleco, how big is it?

I can't tell which one that is, bc I have two in there. One is 15 1/3 inches, and the other is right at 13. They are super easy to measure lol .

inspiring! i'm on my way to petsmart now, thank you!!!:nilly:

i always stayed away from them because i heard they were brackish/leaning more toward saltwater and that they need very alkaline water; clearly this is not a strict rule! do you add any extra salt? i use a tiny bit in all my tanks anyway.

can youg et a feeding vid of that rtc? its good to see people are taking care of the genetic disorders that don't bump the price up a thousand times (shortbody bichirs etc.)

I do add salt when it's needed, but with loaches and discus I don't add a whole heck of a lot. If someone needs salt treated water, then they go in to the q tank. With the gobies, in the wild they swim to freshwater to spawn. I didn't know that when I first got him, but learned soon after. I'm still debating on moving them to a brackish setup, but am still doing more research on that. I guess in my mind I think that since these guys have never been in brackish/salt since they were born, I second guess me wanting to put them in that environment. I would be heartbroken if that choice had a negative impact on either of them.

Sure! Tonight is feeding night actually. I had waited an extra day so my visiting dad can see what his daughter really does in her "free" time...

A fair amount of my fish are deformed in some way . Missing eyes being the number one lol. I just have a soft spot for them. Maybe I am :screwy: but when they aren't perfect and have a handicap, they seem a lot less aggressive than some that aren't. For an RTC, Joker is the most laid back, chill fish. The only time he gets mad is when Geoffrey, the Giraffe, plows over him while he's eating, but quickly forgets when he smells more shrimp.

I'm still trying to figure out how to upload a video. I tried like I normally do a pic, but its not letting me. I will try to covert my files later, or upload from photobucket or something. Sorry for the delay guys :)

what the hell happened to your rtc. thats one crazy community..

Not too sure honestly. I believe he was born that way. I rescued him at 2 inches, and he still looks like he did then. Here's a pic of the day he plopped in to his first tank.. Not much of a change other than the growing part.

forgive my ignorance; what's a "q tank"? quarantine?

you know the saying "if it's not broke, don't fix it"! :)

i've looked, but haven't been able to find any of these guys. seems like i see them all the time except for when i actually want one. :irked:
i'm still looking though...
