I think one of the easiest ways to move a large tank is to use a piano board. They come in different lengths, are lightweight, and have a place to secure straps. Just throw a couple of pads or blankets over the tank and ratchet strap into place. The wheels are usually small enough to make sliding down carpeted stairs very easy.
