Dude! You have GOT to get those O's back! Man, if it were me I would have went to the pawn shop and pawned a dvd player or something. If I didnt have anything to pawn, I would have donated plasma or tried to borrow some cash from some 1. No way in hell I would have gotten rid of my fish. Hope ya can get them back, but in my opinion you got ripped off.

don't whing to me about gas/fuel prices, i paid $1.48/litre the other day!works out to be around $5.50/gallon!
My point before was living expenses should take priority over hobby expenses
Oscars should never be housed in a 55 gallon. It's way to small for them. Start looking for a 125 of bigger. Then buy them back or get small ones and raise them in it.
It's usually better to do a trade for something you want. You won't get much from pet stores. If the trade isn't right, just walk out. In this case, I would have told the owner to hold the oscars until I could come back and get them just so they wouldn't die. Business is business and most pet store owners/people know when they are trying to take advantage of you. If you just stand your ground, they will work things out with you.
