Forgotten Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good thread topic but I got rid of the fish I had that would have fit this category.

A 10 inch common pleco(Hypostomus Plecostomus), ever since I upgraded to the 75, he has only come out of hiding once since 8/2010.

I have to look in the tank at a certain angle just to see a small part of him

He would have to go.

Arrg. Follow Davy Jones to his magical locker of hidden monsters! What do you see? What lurks beneath what your eyes can get to?

If you walked downstairs you'd see two hoplo cats, a short-bodied jade goby, a giant betta, and perhaps a pleco and maybe a striped raph. What you won't see are the zamora woodcat, the spotted raphael, the two amblydoras nauticus, the 9" orinocodoras eigenmanni, the other striped raph and sometimes the L200 gets shy too. So at least half the stock are hidden fish most of the time.

But I have trouble actually forgetting a fish.

I don't have any forgotten fish. I do have some crabs in my SW that, just when I am sure something has eaten them, make a brief appearance then disappear again.

Sorry, but this thread reminds me...you all just lost the game!

Don't see how you could forget a fish in a red hat with white beard.:screwy:

Couple of Amano Shrimp. When I had my 25g planted tank in its prime state about 8 months ago I had about 6 of them. Would see them all the time in certain areas. After few months I needed to put other fish in this tank and let my plants fall to the waist side to where I just had ground cover plants and some moss growing. Never saw any shrimp figured they long gone. Then last month I went to pull out the rest of the plants cause it kept clogging my inlet tube I found 2 shrimps still alive hidden. They had grown 4X the size! couldn't believe they kept hidden. I guess cause the fish I put in there could kill them. I now have moved them to a 6 gallon nano plant tank where again I see them rarely.
