Another update.

6 days since I found him and still doing very well :)

Not sure what bird it is still but from viewing google images for nestling bird I think it might be a blue tit...

Here are some pics from today

Looks like you are doing pretty good with it.There is a baby bird in my yard that fell from its nest.I notice the parents stay near it so I don't bother it.

From someone who grew up rehabbing animals (my gf) she would recommend googling rehabbers in your area. Rehabbers can keep animals like the baby bird a longer time bc they don't speak to it and baby it.

It may have dropped from a nest and would have likely been picked up.

If you cant find a rehabber in your area best suggestion is be careful feeding you can drown them.(they have a slit on the top of their mouth) the more you talk to it, the more likely it willl imprint. They dint always imprint when they open their eyes.

There is hardly any in the uk and the best known 1 and local to me wasn't very interested and basically told me to leave it to it's fate as I said in the first post

I can't find the nest even now and it was in the middle of the road away from anywhere that a nest could be, if I could of found the nest or it would have survived the cats, sun and traffic for more than 5 minutes I would have placed it back in the nest or waited to see if it's parents could find it.

I don't baby it I just care for it, it's in my office on it's own and I just feed it and keep it clean, the only time I touch it is holding it for a few mins to clean the tank it's in and take a couple of pictures while I'm at it. I'm hoping it can be released when it's ready to fly and find it's own food but if it won't leave or can't learn to fly/find it's own food I will just keep taking care of it, it wouldn't be ideal but still better than it being dead

Really cool man! :)
Question, what's imprinting? If the bird bonds with a human it won't live? why? I mean assuming the bird learns to eat on its own at least.

Your doing a great job Shane , well in mate :thumbup:

Really sad news, he suddenly started acting sick, it started acting lethargic and struggled with balance, went off food more and more until it stopped eating completely, I kept on getting it to eat tiny pieces of bread coz I thought maybe dehydration but last night it died :( I don't know what happened everything was going fine the within 24hrs it was dead and I didn't change anything. At least I gave it a chance I guess :(
