Nice pick up for the price, you gonna try a community or just looking to find a passive jardini?

 these fish are gonna cost you big bucks, well don't they all?

combination of passive/community i would like to have them with my silvers in the end(witch i still have 2 of, i will never get them with yolk sacs ever again)...my last one got agressive with my pbass so i sold it...same fate for these if they get agressive...

i am tring to break the needed upcoming funds slowly to the wife...she just found my 5 dats today:eek:....it went better then i thought...she hasn't seen the new juruense yet:naughty:...i will have to think of something witty to say when she sees it:grinno:

it will be interesting to see how their colors come out as all three have diff patterns and degrees of red...will be nice to see

yeah forestlake pets have alot of big fish that WOF dont have. i was looking for dovi and monto at WOF and they dont have any. after my jag died from camalus worms infection i decided to work on arrowanas. and my first time at forest lake pet i saw them nice dovi and jag and monta but haha i decided to go with arrows for now. WOF have many nice small fish and one of the best planted aquriums i had seen. i usually buys plants there and some supplies but i buy food and fishes more from forest lake pets tho. the other day i bought a peacock bass there too.

I'd like to see how 'cheap' this investment turns out to be when you have to buy a tank with an extremely large footprint to house them or house them in a small inadequate tank where they will inflict lacerations upon another.
i dont like tanks especially for a fish that is going to be big. come on they will just break it. so i would just set up a indoor pond right in my basement that is at least 8x8ft or more, plus it is cheaper because 6x4ft tanks cost way too much.

You have no idea what you are talking about. You have no idea how much more expensive such a pond is compared to the glass tank. You could probably get the 6x4 made in starfire glass and still have money left if you were to use the amount you would need for the pond...

hey, i went there too!! I got there when the shipment just got in. There was a lot of babies.
i traded my large pleco for one.
i picked the one that had the longest barbels.
the color of my fish is also more yellow than green.
it is kind of shy though.
they even let me net it myself, and let me take my time too.
i am feeding it glass worms - which they also sell.
What are you guys feeding yours..?

not really. who says iamma go get a concrete semented indoor pond? i would use pond liners and bricks to build it out of my own hand. iam sure you can get those material at menards or home depot.

one example is

here is the authors description of how the pond is made.

I have another pond at my house – an indoor pond!
I built this myself with a framework of 2”x 2” wood set on a 8’x 4’ plywood base, finished with fibreboard inside and out, and lined with a plastic pond liner. Lighting is simply four 4ft. grow lights suspended about 18” from the water surface. (April 2003: I doubled the lighting to see what would happen). Heat is from two 300 watt heaters. The filter is just a medium sized Fluval 303 canister filter (meant for only 70 gallons), and there are two powerful air pumps in opposite corners to add some aeration and water circulation.
The pond is in a spare room in my basement (i.e. not in a normal public area, although I do of course show it to friends), so it was built in a utilitarian fashion rather than as a display piece.
I keep the water about 15” deep, and calculate I have 300 gallons at this depth. An early problem was water condensation in my house, especially in winter. All my windows steamed up and mildew started to appear in the pond room! I solved this by building a “tent” of clear plastic over the pond. This keeps the moisture contained and has the added benefit of providing a cocoon of warm moist tropical-type air for emergent plants.

a 6x4 feet tank will be probably around the 1000 dollar mark
