Freakin Snails!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
right lads and ladies, i used the treatment in question twice and it done sod all!!!! even left it in the tank for longer thn said no effect at all!!!!

so i got me some lil loaches from work slighlty diff from chain loach think they were named tiger chain loach, same body shape and behaviour but different colour pattern. providing there is like a hundred of the little blighters at work i don't think they are of a regional variation to the usual chain loach. so my theory is they are a sub species or something totally different. lol

any who anyone got any ideas on ho to get rid of the Malaysian Burrowing Snail then help me PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

send them to me my clowns would love them..... you cold remove all the gravel and wash it under hot water

1 half of my filtration is undergravel filtration so rinsing the gravel wouldn't do my benficial bacteria any good!

how the hell am i gonna get them all out and send them to you??? if i could get them out then i would just get them out

and i have clown loach in there, also i have had blue botia, chain loach and Botia Sidthmunkii and i still got them so your clowns won't eat them.

at the mo i am trying a species which i think is similar to chian loach i will just try every species of loach that passes through my shop and hope for the best.

i picked me up a new treatment todayby Interpet called Anti Snail:grinno: wonder if it will work. will keep ya posted :D

I want some snails too!

NO YOU DON'T!!!! not these ones, Clown loach don't eat these ones for some reason!!

Ive acutually ask the guy at the lfs too give me three of them for my 10g , he gave me them for free in a bag marked "maneating snail" jokingly ...ive had them for about 2-3weeks and i havent noticed any crazy reproduction infestation but i have notice that my crayfish eats the big ones and the ghost shrimp eat the babies if they find ...the water and filtration seems fine...

We have the opposite problem. My loaches eat all my snails. I think a puffer would eat them, but it has to be freshwater, not brackish.

VICTORY!!! :nilly: :headbang2 :D

Right lads and ladies, after trying about four different brands of snail killer, oi have finally founs one that works. its by JBL and is called schnektol. german lol. like most other treatments that just knock the little sh*ts out, this actually kills them!!! after only a 75% dose and 24 hours they had all disapeared. where as usually there all over my plants, my wood and covering the whole glass can hardly see in the tank sometimes!! its now 72 hours on and still have not seen anymore. will do a water change like it recomends and then do another 75 or 50% dose to kill any eggs that may have been left and now hatched. this treatment is so effective i recomend it so much for exterminating those bast*rd snails!!! it recomends a half dose with fastidious fish. i done 75% with my loach.

I am so Happy :nilly: :nilly: :nilly: :nilly: :nilly: :nilly:
