When I have that kind of prob I find the termite´s entering hole and flood them with alcohol, works every time Same with fungus. Let it dry a few days on sun and its ready to use

like rubbing alcohol, or like vodka?
and it's raining where I am.. so right now its just getting water logged in my front yard..

also i have these tiny little almost look like spiders? but they are bright red things all over the wood also?
any thoughts?

Tent the whole thing with a plastic H.D. tarp, and call an exterminator! Not that expensive either and the results are guaranteed!

I think I know what you are talking about.When we were kids we used to see them crawling all over the front steps and on the porch and we called them bloodsuckers but I've never heard of them biting or sucking anyones blood.I never found out what they ate.

They're a type of mite. I dont think they do any harm, but I wouldnt want them all over my enclosure. I think Coura's talking about rubbing alcohol, since it kills most things that drink it.

i think that bleach would be the best think.. spray it down

build a fire around it. or just put the log very close to the fire. they die at about 160 degrees. and wood burns at 800 degrees. do the math.

going with the bleach thing, sounds like the best thing to do.

What i would do is stick the log in the oven at 350 for an houror two it will kill all life on the log, the spiders and mites will burn off and the termitess will pop like a popcorn kernel.
