cheap feeders I say
and a good supply at that, at least you dont ahve to worry about the petstore feeder dilemma

Mine have bred twice. The second brood about 4 days ago. The first are about 8 weeks old now, maybe 20 left. This time around, the male has become super aggressive to the female. We left for Easter last week thursday and came back last night. The female's fins were torn up and her right pectoral fin is completely gone. She's still watching over the babies and holds her own against the male.. I just wonder for how long..

It's just them two, a couple of syno's and 3 giant danio's in a 55g. Unfortunately I don't have another tank to put the female in.

The male Beating up/killing the female was the last thing I thought would happen. After the first brood, I thought we were home safe. Anyone have this happen to them before? Survival rate for the first 20 and the new bunch?

I just started 20 gallon tank with 5 convicts, three of them with redish pinkish on their middle side, female right? Two of them with no color, males right? Two of them are making a nest, and another two are like trying to fight them from the other side of the tank and I think they are trying to pair off also, and one is just left out.

And I am also taking all the plants out of my 90, and putting them in a 30 with a power compact with 2 65watt bulbs also from the 90 to do a fully planted tank which I have always wanted to do, and in the planted tank I will breed fancy tail guppys, white cloud minnows and maybe some zebras or mollys.

With the guppys should I take them out when they look fat, prego and put them in a breeding tank? When should I take out the little guys with the convicts? Any other small fish I should try in either tank? They will be breed for fun and feeders.

Any help would be great I have been reading threads so id like it if I dont get told where the search button is and maybe get an opinion>

THANKS FOR READING I can post some pictures tomorrow when done with the planted setup.

:irked:OOPS sorry for trying to steal your thread trashcan I thought I was making my own. I guess it sort of goes here though, but im tired I will try and fix this all tomorrow.:irked:

Sure, they can survive as long as they don't harass my other fish. It should take a lot longer than 4 weeks for them to get to sexual maturity. There is only one adult convict in the aquarium now.

Make sure there aren't any aggressive fish that will harass them...my 3" oscar killed my pair of convicts and ate all their fry

Overestimated my convicts :screwy:

No problem vamp, my questions have pretty much already been answered.

Freeze, I bought two hatchling silver arowanas for my large community, and they were fighting. I moved one to a smaller aquarium, and my red texas ate it one bite :(.

NICE TANK:naughty:
