Ok I have 1 aro, 1 motoro ray, 1 parron shark, 1 lima, and a few plecos. My problem is that I have the little bitty snails that you can not get rid of. Before I would just empty the tank out and change the substrate and be done with it. But that was when I had a ten gallon! I am really scared of using chemicals cause of the ray, is there any way I can get rid of these things without harming the ray? Also I have a few albino snails that are decent size that I don't want to kill, I can put them in a different tank if I need to. Any help appreciated!:nilly: :WHOA: :nilly: :WHOA:

I though about that but where can I find one's big enough that my ray won't eat them? All of the LFS only have little one's.

Loaches are the best Idea. You could try the indirect approch, add a few more of the larger snails, they compete for the same food and I have seen them wipe out pond snails, but not mts.

Throw a piece of lettuce in the tank at night before you go to bed and in the morning, take the piece of lettuce out, it should be covered with snails. It might take a couple of days, but I have heard that it works.

Wow, thanks for the ideas I have never heard of the lettuce thing, I'll have to try it. Thanks

How much do you guys usually pay for clown loaches? My LFS has one's that are about 2" for $5, but I was just looking at aquabid and they had ones that were only 4" going for $40!

I picked up some of 5 and 6" for $25/per. They were traded in to the lfs.

My 1-2" ones were 99 cents from tfd.

It's really hard to find any over 3" around here.

I have been dying to order from tfd but I gotta save up enought money for the min. order plus shipping!:nilly: I'm sure it will be worth in tho. :nilly: I think I might just buy a couple little ones from the LFS and see what happens. I'll get over it if the ray eats them as long as they don't hurt the ray.

I wouldn't take the chance...the loaches have spines near their eye for self defense. There some good pics on here showing them somewhere.

I have always got in on group orders with TFD, to help with the min. and to split the shipping costs, also.
