TBH most of the bci females I *personally* have seen have been at least 6 foot. Pumped full of food? Or the rest being unfed? Make of it what you will, you will anyway.

How many have you grown to adult hood? how many have you owned?
i have years of experience, with keeping, growing and breeding RTB..
i am NOT saying your wrong, your breeder could have an exellent gene pool he is working with, but MOST BCI, are mutts, in bred ect.. and that ruins there true potential..
Yes they get bigger, but lots don't. the average BCI will not get as big as they should.

Nope, just average BCI'S he works with. I have NEVER seen a properly cared for adult female BCI 6 foot or under.

In my experience a BCI is a common boa (BCC BEING A RED TAILED) ...![]()
RyanR;1289803; said:Two things here,
1) BCI is the most sold species of boa, and also Labeled as RTB.
Theyre not red tailed boas thoughThey are common boa constrictors ie: BCI. Red tailed boas (yes in the hobby which considering how experienced you say you are, you should be part of) are BCC.
2)my BCI's, have bright velvet red tails, well besides my Anery's
So does mine. Its a bci. Just because it has a red tail does not make it a BCC. A bci with a red tail is exactly that...a BCI. Just because it has a red tail does not give right to mislabel the species...
Enough arguing,
If its a free BP or RTB, take it.. you will be pleased with either snake,
if the ball python is established, you will have NO problem and you will enjoy it, if it is a RTB and it ends up being a Colombian, Be ready to dedicate a 4x2x1 Space for an adult, or better yet 5x2x1 if possible.
