free big catfish need homes/trip to washington to save them

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hey koop,
its just sitting in my driveway at the moment, under a tarp all wrapped up and heated, so there really aint much to see, but i just bought a new house on sat, so we will be moving out to strongsvill3e/medina area, the place has a indoor pool, so were gonna line the walls of the indoor pool with tanks, and run them all off of 1 central filter system, so plan on coming up at the end of march or april, that would be alot better :)

hehehe, nice idea, but the pool is 30x60 and 15 feet deep at one end, so i cant justify loseing the swimming area :) , but there is 20 feet of cement from the pool to the wall so we are just turning one side of the pool room into the fish area, the pool already keeps the air at 80 degrees, just from heating the pool, and it is already full of moisture in there so the evaporating water from the open top tanks will not be a issue, on the other side of the pool is another 20 foot of cement and there is the hot tub there, so we gonna add all our workout equipment along that wall. i just have to devise a constant slow flow of water, and a overflow from the sump, so that i can slow way down on the water changes that i do now, we have already devised a new filtration system out of the 800 gallon wood pond that i built for going to washington and picking up the 19 large catfish. we decided to use the same type of filtration that h20aquatics are using, i dont remeber what it is called, but basically we are having all the water from the 4000 gallon tank and the 1000 gallon tank go into a home made vortex settling chamber and then into the 800 gallon tub and enter the 200 micron sock area that enters the bio ball area, we are fitting the 800 gal pond with 1/2 pvc pipes to run air to the bottom of the tub and inject air all over the entire bottom of the pond = 4' x 8' through the 16 cubic feet of bio balls (more as i aquire more bio balls) and then be pumped back to the tanks, i will add pics of the move and the filter setup as we build things.

and the dream goes on :)

I'll be through your way in late march and mid april! If you need any help with anything let me know. I love moving fish. Think you'll have it up and running by then?

Hey have you though of making the indoor pool, a swimming pond? I know you said you can't loose swimming space, but with the right filter all you would need to do is rinse off real good before and after swimming. I know that people have done it with Koi.
