Thanks for the lingo help, but are there anything that I can do with this cool piece of glass if I grab it?

Umm, I think they are saying you could use it for a plywood tank if you cut it down to 28" high. Maybe you already gathered that and this was a different question....

Grab the glass MFK...

Wow, that thing was a monster in it's own right to get out of the dumpster and carry it across the street to the house! BUT IT"S MINE NOW!!!!:headbang2
Now if I take It back over to the shop to have them cut it down......what .....height ....and .....width..would I need them cut it to?
I need a good safe size to build the plywood tank of 24" deep (front to back).
I am trying to give my two new Clown Knifes the best tank I can.
I Have been into home repair most of my life and know how to build Most things given the dominions needed.

if you wanna build two tanks, cut it, 7'x20''x1/2''
make your plywood tank 4ft wide, and you have two 350 gallon tank, Maybe combine them together to make a 700 gallon tank. Or a 350 gallon with two side for viewing.

or just get the glass cut 7'x28''x1/2''. Build one tank 4 feet wide, it would be 488 gallons roughly.

Sometimes I am gust to old school.

nah... you were in yer prime when computers hit the scene... you just missed the boat... :D

1/2" is more than fine for 28" tall..

my tank is 30" tall 24" front to back with 1/2" (6' long.. aka standard 220g)

1/2" is used for 30"x24"x8'.... so for 28"x24"x7' you are set

30" would be the maximum that I would go.
